Position Qualifications / Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: Health Care clinically focused bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/management role in a hospice setting preferred OR an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
- Must have reliable transportation and provide proof of a valid drivers license and automobile insurance a copy of which will be placed in the employees HR file. Driving to multiple locations is required.
- Licensure: Registered Nurse or other Health Care Discipline required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
- Employee must sign a Business Protection Agreement.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Promotes and practices the Empath Health vision mission and values and follows policies and procedures of the organization.
- Lead supervise and evaluate direct reports performance. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to develop high performing teams. Mentor direct reports and provide developmental feedback/opportunities to equip them to become future leaders within the organization.
- Ensure that job responsibilities authorities and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood. Measures performance of direct reports against key performance measurements and holds them accountable.
- Establish positive working relationships with providers and the community at large within communities we serve including community ALFs Skilled Nursing Facilities and Hospital Based In-Patient Units.
- Represents Empath Health in outreach events and activities.
- Serves as a resource and role model reflecting agency philosophy quality standards mission and ethics.
- Works effectively and communicates effectively with internal and external partners at all levels including providing presentations to keep them informed of strategic goals objectives and key results; providing updates of industry trends; key organizational issues; quality and service performance; and material activities.
- Collaborates with Volunteer Services to utilize volunteers and provide a meaningful volunteer experience as well as participate in events and/or provide education as needed.
- Maintains professional affiliations and any required certifications.
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Organizational Excellence and Compliance responsible for maintaining compliance with all State and Federal requirements.
- In collaboration with the Medical Director monitor medical services to ensure provision of quality care to patients.
- Participate in development of strategic plan and implement to drive results within area of responsibility and for the organization as a whole.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on development of operating budget and monitor to ensure projected financial benchmarks.
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Quality monitors services to ensure provision of quality care to patients
- Plan for and administer the managerial operational fiscal and reporting components of the program.
- Recommend and implement operational policies procedures and protocols for direct patient care family care and support services.
- Monitor the growth of care delivery and services as the patient census grows and make adjustments in planning as needed to maintain established growth and service goals.
- Meet or exceed goals for target census.
- Accountable for quality of services provided.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of compliance with staffing guidelines.
- Participate in and oversee the quality assurance/quality improvement committees as part of the overall quality improvement program.
- Ensure that colleagues are assigned duties based upon their education training competencies and job descriptions.
- Must be available and prepared to assist and coordinate activities for patients during a disaster situation.
- On a rotational basis provide evening and weekend on-call administrative coverage.
- Other duties as requested.
