Department: Radiology
Type: 13-week Contract (Travel/Contract No local candidates within 50 miles)
Schedule: Mid Shift 4x10 Hours (14:00 00:00) Weekends required No mandatory call (optional)

Job Description

Summary:
The MRI Technologist will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging in a busy Level II hospital setting supporting acute care ICU trauma and outpatient services. This role requires proficiency in a wide range of MRI procedures strong patient care skills and the ability to manage both high caseload volumes and diverse patient acuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of MRI exams including brain spine abdomen pelvis chest musculoskeletal and advanced specialty imaging.

  • Support trauma and emergency cases requiring rapid diagnostic imaging.

  • Conduct specialized MRI studies such as diffusion perfusion spectroscopy cardiac and breast MRI and MRA.

  • Perform post-processing tasks (MIP MRP ADC mapping subtraction) to ensure diagnostic accuracy.

  • Safely prepare and administer contrast media; start and manage peripheral IVs when needed.

  • Operate GE MRI equipment and PACS systems to acquire and manage imaging data.

  • Document all patient exams and clinical information in Epic (required).

  • Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient care.

  • Handle daily caseload of 30 40 exams per technologist.

  • Maintain compliance with MRI safety protocols and hospital policies.

Key Requirements
  • Shift: Mid 4x10s 14:00 00:00.

  • Weekends required.

  • On-call: Not required (optional if traveler wishes to take call).

  • Epic experience required.

  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 10-hour shift per 2-week period.

  • No locals accepted (must live 50 miles away).

  • Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must submit all RTO at time of submission.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited MRI or Radiologic Technology program.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required.

  • Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred.

  • Pediatric/NICU/PICU imaging experience preferred.

License & Certifications:

  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT Required (HARDSTOP must have one of these).

  • ARRT (R) Preferred.

  • BLS Required.

  • Washington State Radiologic Technologist License Required (HARDSTOP).

Skills:

  • Core Imaging: Brain spine (cervical thoracic lumbar) abdomen pelvis chest musculoskeletal (hip knee shoulder).

  • Advanced Procedures: CINE diffusion perfusion spectroscopy cardiac MRI breast MRI.

  • Post-Processing: MIP MRP ADC mapping subtraction.

  • Patient Care: IV contrast preparation/administration venipuncture safe handling of critical/total-assist patients.

  • Equipment Proficiency: GE MRI (required) PACS.
