Job Description
Job Title: Locum Physician - Hospitalist
Join us in Suffolk Virginia! This community hospital offers a supportive environment that prioritizes patient care. We are looking for a dedicated locum Hospitalist for night coverage starting June 2025. Be part of a team that values compassion and quality healthcare.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide hospitalist services during night shifts from 8 PM to 8 AM.
- Manage an average of 8-12 admissions per shift.
- Handle floor calls for inpatient units without in-house codes or rounding responsibilities.
- Utilize EMR systems (EPIC) for patient documentation.
- Deliver care to adult patients in a community hospital setting.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine - REQUIRED
- Experience as a Hospitalist preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Virginia Medical License - REQUIRED; NO EXCEPTIONS
- VA DEA License - REQUIRED; NO EXCEPTIONS
- ACLS/BLS Certification - REQUIRED (AHA or American Red Cross)
- 100% Clean Background - REQUIRED for temporary privileges
- Specific availability must be clearly noted at submission - REQUIRED
