Job Description

Are you a hands-on Engineering Surveyor who values accuracy teamwork and practical problem solving Join a tight-knit survey team made up of many long-serving tradespeople and operators (20 year veterans they stick around for a reason).

Youll work on medium to large civil and urban projects across the Ipswich region from bulk earthworks and paving to machine control and detailed monitoring.

About the role

This is a full-time field-based position reporting into the Survey Manager and working closely with Project Managers across SEQ projects. Youll deliver survey input across design construction and monitoring phases and ensure work on site meets tight survey specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering survey for construction set-out and monitoring activities.
  • Check and verify site work is within survey tolerances and specifications.
  • Manage and support machine control systems and deliverables (GNSS machine files).
  • Lead mentor and coordinate survey assistants and subcontract survey crews when required.
  • Liaise with project teams to resolve on-site survey issues quickly and practically.
  • Maintain accurate field and office records using TBC/12d and other software.

About you

  • Advanced Diploma or above Tertiary qualification in surveying spatial science or equivalent.
  • Proven civil construction surveying experience (site set-out as-constructed monitoring).
  • High proficiency with TBC (Trimble Business Center) and 12d and confident with a full range of survey kit (total stations GNSS).
  • Experience delivering and managing machine control workflows.
  • Strong numerical accuracy problem solving and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in the field and coaching junior staff.
  • UAV REPL desirable.
