Job Description

Metallurgical/Quality Lab Technician

Location: Urbana OH 43078

Job Description:

We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Urbana OH. This position will be full-time temporary for the first 90 days based on performance the role may become permanent. The ideal candidate will have lab experience in a metal or chemical lab. Experience with cut/mount/polish is preferred. The use of modern high-accuracy lab equipment is preferred. This position will involve the use of an X-ray fluorescence machine training and operating a Carbon and Oxygen Analyzer and other metallurgical equipment. You will have the opportunity to work on various engineering projects collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the set-up and operation of the carbon and oxygen analyzer
  • Perform a Wet test of new tungsten carbide formulations
  • Complete loading and running of a 300 kg ball mill
  • Crushing blending and milling of desintered Carbide parts
  • Assist with daily metallurgical lab operations

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited engineering program
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
