DHL Express South Africa is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Managing Director (MD) to lead the South African business through its next phase of growth. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving strategic operational and financial performance in alignment with DHLs global standards and values.
This is a high-visibility executive-level role suited to a seasoned leader from the logistics express or related multinational sectors with strong regional experience and an exceptional leadership profile.
Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure growth profitability and operational excellence across DHL Express South Africa.
Lead inspire and manage cross-functional teams to achieve performance targets.
Maintain full P&L accountability and ensure compliance with all legal and corporate governance standards.
Represent the South African business within the Sub-Saharan Africa leadership team and globally as needed.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government regulatory bodies and major clients.
Foster a culture of high performance innovation and customer centricity.
Must be a South African citizen (no exceptions).
Proven experience in a Managing Director Country Manager or senior executive role within a multinational or blue-chip logistics transport or express delivery business.
Strong understanding of the South African and Sub-Saharan Africa logistics landscape.
Regional exposure and/or experience working outside of South Africa in a global business context.
Demonstrated success in driving commercial growth operational efficiencies and team leadership.
A credible polished leader with gravitas and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Able to thrive in a high-performance fast-paced matrix-driven environment.
Relevant Bachelors degree (e.g. Business Logistics Engineering Finance)
Postgraduate qualification or MBA strongly preferred
Under the age of 50 (as per client preference)
