Location: New Orleans Louisiana
Employment Type: Part-time Contract (As-Needed)
Hourly Rate: $120.00/hour

Position Overview:
The Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC) operated by the City of New Orleans is a secure detention facility for youth awaiting court proceedings or placement. JJIC provides trauma-informed developmentally appropriate medical and behavioral health care to residents many of whom present with complex needs. We are seeking dedicated healthcare and behavioral health professionals to join our on-site team delivering high-quality care 24/7 in compliance with state federal and juvenile justice standards.

Qualifications:
- Education: MD or DO
- Licensure: Active Louisiana Medical License
- Experience:Adolescent medicine correctional health or juvenile detention settings (preferred)
- Technical Skills:HIPAA/juvenile health regulations expertise
- Soft Skills: Trauma-informed care approach systems thinking collaborative leadership
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight for 24/7 medical coverage.
- Approve standing orders and review all youth health appraisals within 5 days of arrival.
- Review medication administration records and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Consult with the Nurse Manager to optimize clinic operations.
- Ensure continuity of care with backup coverage as needed.
