Physical Education/Health Teacher 0.5 FTE Date Needed: 08/18/2025 10 Month Calendar Temporary

GENERAL DUTIES:
Physical education is an academic subject and as such demands the same education rigor as other core subjects. Physical education provides students with a planned sequential K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction designed to develop motor skills knowledge and behaviors for active living physical fitness sportsmanship self-efficacy and emotional intelligence.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from an accredited institution
- The ability to follow oral and written instructions
- The ability to effectively work and communicate with students parents and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
- The ability to work harmoniously with others
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications including but not limited to email and systems applications
- The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
- Possess and maintain a current CPR and First Aid card
- Demonstrate a strong command of the physical skills necessary to teach a variety of sports games and activities
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students staff or district patrons
