Job Description
Position Summary
The Shipping Specialist has a critical role in our business in ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. You are the last person at Trico to handle a customers order so you will leave an impression on every shipment that leaves our facility.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Pick and package parts for customer orders accurately and safely
- Safely operate material handling equipment and shipping equipment - pallet jacks forklift bubble wrap machine scales and labelers
- Ensure products are clean labeled and packaged for secure and cost-effective shipment
- Using computerized shipping software accurately ship orders according to customer shipping instructions including shipping documents for LTL and international shipment
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum one year of shipping experience required
- Freight and international shipping experience highly desired
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with freight carriers customers customs officials and other Trico employees
- Must obtain and maintain OSHA-compliant forklift certification within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds and carry them for up to 10 feet
- Must be able to stand sit bend reach and move about the facility
- Displays flexibility to accommodate changing tasks and priorities
Work Environment
This is a hands-on active warehouse role. Youll operate forklifts and other equipment and will need to follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. The role requires hearing awareness for equipment movement and participation in ongoing safety training.
