Job Description:
The Import Accountant at <> is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all import transactions ensuring proper accounting treatment and analyzing import costing sheets. They reconcile vendor statements coordinate with procurement and logistics teams and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring foreign currency payments recording landed cost entries and supporting audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of all import transactions
- Prepare and analyze import costing sheets
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate with procurement logistics and customs brokers
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Monitor foreign currency payments and settle supplier invoices
- Record landed cost entries and track inventory valuation
- Support audits by providing import documentation
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting import-related costs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 2-5 years of experience as an Import Accountant
- Strong knowledge of international trade and import regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
