Job Summary

Our client is an Accountant who will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the companys construction projects and general business operations. This role involves meticulous job costing budgeting financial reporting and ensuring compliance with construction accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Develop implement and maintain detailed job costing systems to accurately track expenses (including labor materials equipment and overhead) for individual construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers and estimators to create detailed project budgets and cost forecasts.
Monitor actual project expenditures against the budget and prepare variance analysis reports to identify and explain any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.
Prepare and process client billings including progress billings payment applications (e.g. AIA documents) and final invoices.
Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures including the preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet Income Statement Cash Flow Statement).
Reconcile all bank accounts general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers regularly.

Key Skills:

Strong proficiency in construction-specific accounting software.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is required. A CPA or relevant certification (e.g Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional - CCIFP) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in the construction real estate development or project-based accounting industry.
