Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers in accordance with accounting standards.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions (payments receipts donations and invoices).
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with Maltese employment laws and tax regulations.
- Handle supplier invoices payments and petty cash.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
- Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting VAT and fiscal requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical financial management practices.
Requirements
Requirements
- A qualification in Accounting Finance or a related field (MQF Level 4 or higher preferred).
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role (minimum 2 years).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage QuickBooks or Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good understanding of Maltese tax VAT and financial regulations.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Maltese is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small administrative team.
