Dean of Students Elementary Teacher Salary Schedule


to:
Building Administrator

OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the Building Administrator the dean will serve as liaison between staff students and community to maintain a positive and childcentered school climate as well as provide administrative support within a culturally diverse environment.

FUNCTIONS
a Positive and ChildCentered School Climate
and implement an effective system establishing and maintaining positive

relations between parents and the school.
facilitate and implement staff parent and student development activities

enhancing a positive school climate.
and implement a building wide process for district and state assessments.
and assist with building special education procedures for implementation of

IEPs Student Assistance Team and compliance of special education laws.
and implement a support system for students (e.g. attendance discipline

support teams academic success). Work with counselors and community support

groups/agencies to provide services for students.
with the creation and implementation of a schoolwide behavior management

system for utilization by students while in the hallways lunchroom playground

classrooms and when participating in extra curricular activities. Responsible for

student discipline up to suspension.

Administrative Support
direction from the building administrator assist with classified staff evaluations.
to prepare and implement building emergency procedures and

disseminate the information to students and staff.

IV.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
and Experience
1. Bachelors degree in Education or related field.
2. Successful experience as a classroom teacher and/or in a support position.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology.
3. Demonstrated ability to interact positively with students parents and community.
4. Knowledge of developmental characteristics and needs of elementary students (per

K5).
5. Knowledge of elementary school philosophy programs and curriculum and

instruction.
6. Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations for attendance/truancy.
7. Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations for discipline.

C. Desirable Qualifications
1. Three (3) to five (5) years successful teaching or education staff associate

experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a school setting.
2. Masters Degree in education or related field.
3. Washington State Administrator Credential or demonstrated interest in working

towards that credential.
4. Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations for special education.

D. Certification and Licenses
State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).
have a valid Washington State drivers license use of personal vehicle and

proof of insurance.
of Criminal History Declaration form and fingerprinting.

V. WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a regular school building. May involve negotiating steps ramps uneven surfaces and going outdoors in all types of weather to reach some classrooms or other buildings. Tolerance of occasional loud noises; standard use of arms hands and fingers; and ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time are required. May be exposed to angry or hostile individuals. Requires sitting turning lifting objects using proper lifting techniques weighing 30 lbs. Teamwork and high productivity requirements create frequent extra hour days and attendance at meetings before and after school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

Employees who are anticipated to work 630 hours during the school year (September 1 through August 31) are eligible for medical dental vision long term disability and basic life insurance benefits.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation

Eligible employees are required to be a member of the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems Plan. For eligibility information check on the link to theDepartment of Retirement Systems web site.

Employees also have the ability to participate in tax deferred 403(b) and 457 Deferred Compensation Plans (DCP). These are supplemental retirement savings programs that allows you control over the amount of pretax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.

To enroll in an eligible 403(b) plan employees must consult with their own financial planner that is an approved vendor.

*Clover Park School District total possible pay consists of base salary plus the following:

Building Centered Responsibility 5 days

District Centered Responsibility 2.5 days

Event Responsibility 1 day

Attendance required for compensation of responsibility pay (buildingcentered districtcentered and event).
