Light a Path SpecialistJob Description Reports to: Director of Health and Wellness Direct Reports: None FLSA Classification: Nonexempt Date Posted: May 1 2025 Pay: $20$24/hour SummaryThe Light a Path (LAP) Specialist is coming into an established program with a dedicated Program Volunteer volunteer instructors and relationships with program site locations. This parttime position will work with both the Program Volunteer and the Director of Health and Wellness as well as the existing volunteer instructors to support the implementation of the program offering traumainformed and resiliencefocused yoga and strength training classes in incarcerated communities. The LAP Specialist will work collaboratively with LAP volunteers community programs and YWCA staff to forward the mission of the YWCA and the needs of our community. Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral Admin Support- Systems & organizational support
- Manage LAP files and supplies
- Track and manage inventory of LAP equipment
- Work with Program Volunteer and supervisor to collect and track participant surveys and class attendance sheets
- Submit monthly YWCA board reports and regular grant reports with program updates and relevant data
- Work with YWCA Communications Director regarding marketing for YWCA needs
Volunteer Management- Volunteer intake & onboarding
- Work with Program Volunteer to maintain regular communication with volunteers and programs where volunteers are placed
- Manage volunteer recruitment and intake with appropriate forms and file management
- Work with Program Volunteer on a schedule for volunteer training and orientations
- Work with Program Volunteer and supervisor to coordinate orientation training volunteer meetings and continuing education opportunities
- Work with Program Volunteer to place volunteers at appropriate site
- Resolve volunteer concerns and issues as they arise
- Work with the Program Volunteer to assist in the preparation of training handouts publications training manual PowerPoint presentation and other written materials and/or coordinate appropriate outreach and marketing activities as assigned
Partnership Relations- Relationship management with community partners
- Maintain clear and timely communication with both community partner program contacts and volunteers
- Communicate programrelated matters and assist in developing and/or updating policies and procedures
- Manage monthly schedule and volunteer participation
Additional Duties- Attend meetings of appropriate boards/committees as delegated with ability to respond to questions concerning related program coordination issues and to report meeting content to supervisor
- Maintain confidentiality in communicating sensitive copyrighted information and in handling confidential materials
- May assist in researching issues regarding compliance with government and other external regulations
- May take part in offering training classes in a somatic practice based on skills and certifications
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities- Excellent written & oral communication skills

Working ConditionsWorks at a desk for long hours and operates personal computers and telephone. May have to stand or enact physical activity when showing members how to operate equipment or do exercises safely. Ability to work in the evening or weekends when required. Physical RequirementsFrequently moves throughout the building may give sequential tours requiring long periods of standing walking and talking. Occasionally lifts and/or moves heavy objects. Demonstrates correct techniques in strenuous fitness classes and demonstrates correct use of fitness machines equipment and weights.
