JOB DESCRIPTION
Main accountabilities:
The main responsibility is the management of projects. This includes budgeting managing contractors interfacing with plant departments and performing basic and detail mechanical engineering for the implementation of both small and large projects. Project value can range from 2 up to 10 million dollars.
Characteristics
Project Management Skills: Development of basic and detail engineering for capital projects. Budget and schedule planning of the complete project. Coordinate in field project implementation and construction. Will need to coordinate with others so that deadlines are met needs to organize work using the PMSystem manage and schedule others work and motivate them.
Drive for Results: Has to be self motivated and a self starter. Has to be able to foresee any problem in the processes and the equipment. Needs to show proactiveness in this sense.
Analytical Skills: May need to go to the root of problems and understand how threading testing and hydro testing machines work and suggest improvements (e.g.: buy or upgrade machines and equipment). Needs to know how to calculate forces and resistance create drawings or be able to explain with details how the drawing to be done (ability to communicate this to a drafter).
Technical Skills: Will need to write processes and equipment specifications (for e.g. when buying new equipment) or write about material specification which is going to be loaded in that equipment.
Ability to understand and foresee requirement needs and suggest improvements: Will receive the input from Quality and Operations departments. Needs to know what needs to be done so that quality is improved as well as the manufacturing processes. Will receive information on the process and may need to suggest the changes to be made. (Buy new machines upgrade the old ones and repair broken equipment).
QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and a previous experience of 10 years in engineering companies or manufacturing facilities.
