Job Description
As a Mechanical Estimator II you will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate estimates for medium to large-scale mechanical construction projects. Youll work closely with project managers engineers and subcontractors to develop winning bids and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans blueprints and specifications
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing HVAC piping and sheet metal systems
- Determine time labor and material requirements
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Assist with proposal development and bid submissions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain documentation reports and cost tracking systems
- Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical estimating engineering or a related trade
- Hands-on experience in HVAC plumbing piping or sheet metal systems
- Proficiency with mechanical estimating software
- Strong analytical math and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with computerized cost databases and bid tracking systems
- Associates degree in engineering or related technical field (preferred)
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have a valid drivers license
- On-site availability in Rochester MN
