Job Description
Role Overview:
The company is seeking a visionary Engineering Leader to drive innovation and scale its cloud platform. Reporting to the VP of Engineering this strategic role will define and execute the engineering strategy develop scalable SaaS platforms and leverage AWS/Azure cloud technologies to deliver cuttingedge solutions.
Key responsibilities include architecting largescale cloud services creating developerfriendly APIs and building a millisecondlatency event processing pipeline.
The Director of Engineering will build grow and mentor a highperforming team set goals and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in CloudOps SaaS platforms system architecture and a proven track record of leading teams to deliver at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Implementation
- Lead the design architecture and implementation of the Cloud Management Platform ensuring scalability reliability and performance.
- Define system architecture across offerings and guide teams in AWS and cloudnative technologies.
- Establish design reviews and development best practices to ensure highquality software delivery.
Leadership & Team Development
- Articulate and drive the engineering vision in alignment with organizational goals.
- Build mentor and scale a highperforming team fostering a culture of learning collaboration and innovation.
- Ensure effective knowledge sharing through technical documentation and knowledge sessions.
- Inspire and motivate the team drive crossfunctional synergies and have impact in the overall organisational decision making
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Implement best practices across IaC automation DevOps and security.
- Drive incident response resilience and compliance while optimizing performance and costs.
- Enhance agile development CI/CD pipelines and operational efficiency.
Innovation & Technology Advancement
- Identify and integrate emerging cloud technologies (serverless microservices edge computing).
- Drive AIpowered automation selfhealing systems and intelligent infrastructure optimization.
Budgeting & Cost Management
- Oversee budgeting expense monitoring and financial planning for the engineering department
Requirements
Desired Siklls and Requirements
Must Have
- Lead the design and development of scalable resilient and highperformance SaaS platforms on AWS with 14 years of software development experience.
- Drive architecture decisions for distributed systems with 5 years of experience building cloudnative products.
- Manage highperforming engineering teams with 5 years of leadership experience including leading managers and crossfunctional squads.
- Architect and implement serverless systems and eventdriven platforms with 3 years of handson expertise.
- Leverage event streaming technologies such as Kafka OpenSearch/ElasticSearch AWS Kinesis or Azure Streams with 3 years of deep experience.
- Code and review software built in Python Java or Go backed by 5 years of strong programming experience.
- Design and deploy lowlatency highperformance APIs at scale with at least 3 years of expertise.
- Implement containerization and orchestration best practices using Docker and Kubernetes in production for 3 years.
- Automate infrastructure deployments and manage environments as code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for 3 years.
- Champion cloudnative security practices including IAM encryption and compliance at scale.
- Communicate technical strategies effectively to executive teams product leaders and engineering organizations.
- Shape technical roadmaps through strategic decisionmaking aligned with business goals and growth targets.
Good to Have
- Integrate AI/ML systems and Large Language Models (LLMs) into scalable production environments.
- Build and optimize data platforms and realtime analytics pipelines to enhance product intelligence.
- Expand cloud operations across multicloud infrastructures (AWS Azure GCP) to enhance resiliency and flexibility.
- Establish observability and monitoring frameworks using tools like OpenTelemetry Datadog or Prometheus.
- Optimize cloud spend and resource allocation by implementing costeffective cloudnative architectures.
- Scale and manage globally distributed engineering teams to accelerate development velocity.
- Contribute to executivelevel and boardlevel technical strategy discussions bringing a product and businessoriented mindset.
Education
Bachelors or Master s in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
Must haves: 10+ years of experience in deep product management experience in B2B SaaS, with a focus on driving growth and customer outcomes. Domain Expertise: In-depth understanding of MSP operations, cloud management (AWS or Azure), or cloud operations is essential. Customer Focus: Proven track record of building products that drive measurable value for customers, particularly MSPs. Analytical Skills: Expertise in product analytics, A/B testing, and data visualization tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics). & Leadership: Demonstrated ability to deliver results in cross-functional, fast-paced environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to align product vision with customer success. Good to have: Experience scaling MSP-focused SaaS products or PLG strategies for enterprise or SMB platforms. Familiarity with MSP business models, including pricing, revenue streams, and operational workflows. Educational Qualification Bachelor s or Master s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred MBA
