Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to oversee and manage fragrance sales across India. Based in Mumbai the candidate will spearhead business development and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers in Personal Care Home Care Fine Fragrances and Incense industries. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fragrance industry a solid network in the manufacturing sector and the ability to drive growth across diverse market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy and Business Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and meet targets across all fragrance segments: Personal Care Home Care Fine Fragrances and Incense.
- Identify new opportunities and potential clients including midsized and large manufacturers across the country.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their product needs and offer tailored fragrance solutions.
- Account Management:
- Build and nurture strong longterm relationships with key decisionmakers within manufacturers ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client accounts addressing their needs and resolving challenges promptly.
- Negotiate pricing contracts and delivery terms in alignment with company policies.
- Market Analysis and Insights:
- Monitor market trends industry developments and competitor activities within the Personal Care Home Care Fine Fragrance and Incense sectors.
- Provide actionable insights to the product development and marketing teams to stay ahead of industry trends and meet client demands.
- Identify and analyze regional market opportunities for expansion and penetration.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with fragrance development technical and marketing teams to ensure products meet the requirements of different applications.
- Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery and fulfillment.
- PanIndia Sales Management:
- Travel extensively to meet clients and prospects across different regions in India.
- Create and manage a regional sales pipeline ensuring consistent growth across all zones.
- Organize workshops presentations and product demonstrations for manufacturers to showcase fragrance applications.
- Reporting and Forecasting:
- Track sales performance and prepare periodic reports for senior management detailing revenue growth client acquisition and opportunities.
- Forecast demand trends and create sales plans to maximize potential.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience:
- Minimum 7 10 years of sales experience preferably in the fragrance industry FMCG raw materials or related fields.
- Proven experience working with manufacturers in Personal Care Home Care Fine Fragrances or Incense industries is a must.
- Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Chemistry or related fields (MBA preferred).
- Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of fragrance applications across various sectors (e.g. soaps detergents perfumes agarbattis).
- Strong knowledge of fragrance trends regulations and regional preferences in India.
- Skills:
- Strong business acumen and ability to negotiate effectively.
- Excellent relationshipbuilding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills to identify market opportunities and provide insights.
- Ability to manage complex accounts and projects.
- Languages:
- Proficiency in English and regional languages (Hindi is essential; others are a plus).
