Mapledown School is a secondary special school catering for students with Severe and Profound or Complex learning difficulties and Autism in Barnet. Our ethos and vision are to provide a learning environment for all members of the school community where everyone can work and learn together. We aim to ensure our wonderful and inspiring students are given the dignity of challenge and opportunities to be heard become as independent as possible and achieve their very best.

About you:

We wish to appoint a teacher & Head of Department with: Relevant teaching and leading teams experience A commitment to special education and improving the lives of children and young people with disabilities Excellent organisation skills Dedication to the welfare safeguarding and achievement of every learner Ability to inspire challenge and motivate all young people Commitment to providing outstanding learning experiences A reflective approach to their ongoing professional development

What we offer:

1day PPA weekly release for all teachers with additional planning time for middle leaders A warm supportive and positive learning and working environment
Staff who are collegiate committed to their own professional development and to improving outcomes for the students at Mapledown A class team structure of one lead Teaching assistant and 3 to 4 additional support staff depending on cohort size and need.
