North River Collaborative198 Spring StreetRockland MA 02370JOB POSTINGPOSITION/TITLE:Assistant Program CoordinatorPROGRAM/LOCATION:North River School (Rockland MA)START DATE:July 1 2025LENGTH OF POSITION:Eleven month schedule full schoolyear and six weeks during the summer 215 days)SALARY SCHEDULE:Per Individual Contract based on experience and :Masters degree in education leadership or related fieldCommonwealth of Massachusetts Administrator license as a School Principal/Assistant School Principal Special Education Director or Supervisor/ with the Special Education Team process and relevant laws/regulationsAt least 3 years of teaching or counseling experience requiredExperience evaluating teachers and/or support staffDemonstrated experience with program development and/or leading an alternative program with a traumainformed lensStrong knowledge of the writing a review of IEPsKnowledge of the developmental issues of secondary school students including academic behavioral and social needsKnowledge and experience with students and families with a myriad of needsExperience with administrative and instructional applications of technologyKnowledge of the MA Curriculum FrameworksExcellent communication organization and collaboration skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated culturally competent directive and supportive leadership skillsAt least 3 years of experience as a secondary school administrator preferredREPORTS TO:Program CoordinatorSUPERVISES:North River School StaffEVALUATION:Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures RESPONSIBILITIES:The North River School is a highly structured therapeutic middle/high school (grades 512 with a strong academic component. Small group instruction individual tutoring career readiness opportunities individual counseling social skills groups community internships as well as family and community consultation provide students with the necessary tools to meet their academic and career readiness needs. Responsibilities include:A. ASSISTANT PROGRAM COORDINATION AND LEADERSHIPThe Assistant Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the management and administration of the overall educational program and operations which includes the supervision and evaluation of staff the implementation of all policies and the development of administrative systems and procedures which maximize the effectiveness of the school program and adhere to state and federal laws and regulations and Collaborative policiesAssists with referral intake disciplinary and termination procedures for all NRS students Maintains high standards for students emotional and physical safety and wellbeingCollaborates with the Lead Counselor to ensure students social emotional needs are being metEnsures the equal access of educational opportunities for NRS students Assists in the coordination of special education and ELL services for all eligible studentsCoordinates with the LEA to ensure all case management needs are being ongoing twoway communication with families caregivers and any applicable student support partners. Evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations for changes as neededAttends meetings as required by the Program Coordinator B. PERSONNELAssists with the recruitment and orientation process for all new staffPromotes effective communication and cooperation among staff through regular meetingsCollaborates with SPED Directors Out of District Coordinators and other district personnel to ensure all needs of students and families are met. C. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIESAssists in budget preparation including personnel building maintenance equipment and suppliesAssists in grant writing as neededWorks with the Program Coordinator to evaluate existing programs and identify future program and service needs for North River School studentsAssists in the development of new programs and services including budget preparation grant writing and staff developmentAssists the Program Coordinator in meeting the needs of LEAsEvaluates Clinical and Support StaffCoordinates/oversees the IEP review and development processCompletes Extended Evaluations/Interim Alternative Education Setting (IAES) as directed D. HEALTH AND SAFETYRespond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student training is able to apply deescalation strategies if necessary to prevent a student from harming themselves or to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual to safely and effectively participate in restraint training and to safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed once to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained. E. ETHICALMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and parents and other professionals with constructively to feedback and goal oriented coaching. F. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
