Description

Director of Finance and Administration

KDM Engineering is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration to join our team and oversee the companys financial health and operations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) this leadership role is critical in ensuring that KDM Engineering remains financially sound compliant with all requirements and wellpositioned for continued growth. The director role will manage the accounting and finance department maintain completely accurate records of the firms transactions and review financial statements to determine the firms financial health and take action accordingly. They will work closely with the executive team and external auditors to maintain financial stability develop strategic insights and ensure accurate financial reporting.


Financial Management

  • Lead financial strategy longterm planning and overall financial stewardship of the organization.
  • Oversee financial planning budgeting forecasting and reporting within the accounting department.
  • Drive profitability analysis cost control measures and resource optimization across departments.
  • Manage cash flow and implement robust cash management strategies to ensure financial integrity.
  • Ensure full compliance with GAAP accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements reports and performance dashboards.
  • Lead the annual audit process and maintain productive relationships with external auditors.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies internal controls and procedural improvements.

Administrative Oversight

  • Direct administrative operations including HR accounting and facilities management.
  • Ensure efficient secure and effective administrative and recordkeeping systems.
  • Partner with IT leadership to align technology infrastructure with organizational needs emphasizing data security and digital efficiency.
  • Develop and oversee risk management protocols including business continuity and crisis response planning.

Strategic Planning

  • Serve as a key contributor to organizational strategic planning and decisionmaking.
  • Provide financial guidance and insight to the executive team to support datadriven decisions.
  • Identify financial risks and growth opportunities to enhance business outcomes.
  • Lead financial modeling and scenario planning to support organizational growth initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO ensuring alignment between financial strategy and business goals.

Team Leadership

  • Lead mentor and develop highperforming finance HR and administrative teams.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance metrics to ensure accountability and operational excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative inclusive and highperformance work culture.
  • Promote strong crossfunctional collaboration across finance HR IT and operations.

External Relations

  • Represent the organization in financial matters with external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with auditors financial institutions vendors and regulatory bodies.
  • Manage banking relationships investor communications and financing partnerships.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and external service agreements to drive cost savings and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial management and administrative leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking analytical rigor and effective decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and team leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial systems accounting software and data analysis tools.
  • Indepth knowledge of accounting standards compliance regulations and financial best practices.

Salary Range: $100000 $140000 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications


Additional Requirements:

Must be willing to comply with all preemployment screening including but not limited to drug testing reference verification education and employment verification and background screening.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Possess a valid Drivers License

Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in financial systems accounting software and data analysis tools.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Preferred
  • 10 years total experience with at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance accounting budgeting cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices laws standards and state/national regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
