Sask DLC requires a High School Student Support Teacher for the 202526 school year. The position will commence on August 25 2025. The campus location will be determined by the principal residence of the successful candidate.
Sask DLC is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation created to deliver highquality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. Sask DLCs head office is located in Kenaston with an administrative office in Regina and regional campuses located in Estevan Kenaston La Ronge Moose Jaw Neilburg Nipawin Prince Albert Regina Saskatoon Swift Current and Yorkton.
Sask DLC Online Student Support Teacher plays a vital role in providing educational support to high school students in a dynamic fastpaced online learning environment. Adaptability and a proactive approach to evolving needs are essential to effectively support both students and teachers. This multifaceted position focuses on delivering differentiated targeted and intensive instructional support ensuring diverse learners receive the assistance they need. Through close collaboration with educational assistants teachers and parents the Student Support Teacher helps create an inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in outcomebased assessment practices a deep understanding of the Adaptive Dimension and intensive supports for learners and a strong commitment to professional growth team collaboration and stakeholder communication. Aligned with the Actualizing a NeedsBased Model the Student Support Teacher works collaboratively to assist teachers and provide instructional support to students serving as a learning coach coteacher peer collaborator supportive teacher interventionist and case manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Academics
Curriculum and Planning:
- Ensure the Saskatchewan curriculum is delivered effectively while adapting for diverse learners and their individual needs.
- Design and implement differentiated instructional strategies to support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Utilize adaptive dimension strategies to provide support to students requiring adaptations to access curricular outcomes and individualized learning plans.
- Implement and monitor the development of targeted and intensive instruction and supports to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students.
Instruction and Assessment
- Support the development of engaging and effective online lessons activities and interventions.
- Utilize and model a wide array of assessment for assessment of and assessment as learning strategies to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Write and support the creation of Inclusion and Intervention Plans (IIP) in collaboration with students parents and educational teams.
- Analyze student performance data and use it to inform online teachers and adjust teaching practices.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student performance and additional learning behaviors.
Leadership
- Utilize Moodle and Microsoft Teams to manage course content deliver lessons and communicate with students and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and staff within the learning team to plan and develop educational programs.
- Provide mentorship and supervision for educational assistants ensuring effective instructional support for students.
- Collaborate with Student Support Consultant Teachers Student Support Professionals Educational Assistants parents other support staff and at times outside agencies to address the specific needs of students.
- Works collaboratively with Student Support Consultant to allocate additional supports based upon students needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices and knowledge of diverse learning needs.
- Stay current with research and best practices related to online education special education and inclusive teaching strategies.

Classroom
- Establish clear expectations for learning student behavior and classroom conduct in both synchronous and asynchronous settings.
- Foster a supportive respectful and engaging online learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Utilize digital platforms such as Moodle Microsoft Teams and other learning management systems to deliver content assess progress and engage with students.
- Ensure students and families are comfortable navigating the digital tools necessary for their learning experience.
- When appropriate engage students in goal setting and monitoring.
Outside Classroom
- Works collaboratively with the Student Support Team to support the Response to Intervention / MultiTiered Systems of Support framework focused on developing implementing and monitoring interventions and strategies that meet the social emotional behavioural and learning needs of students.
- Maintain clear consistent and timely communication with parents/guardians about student progress challenges and achievements ensuring responsiveness to their needs.
- Offer guidance to parents on supporting student learning at home and work together to create strategies for student success.
- Foster an inclusive respectful and culturally responsive learning environment for all students.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned by the Campus Principal or VicePrincipal and/or Student Support Consultant.

- Ability to conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to Sask DLC and demonstrate strict attention to the confidentiality of Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre operations and information.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification in Saskatchewan.
- Master of Education (M.Ed. or Special Education Certificate is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12 students preferably in an online or blended learning environment.
- Valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate with Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board (SPTRB) and membership with the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF).
