Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning:
o Develop and implement procurement strategies for sourcing raw materials
components and services used in the production of tool holders and gearboxes.
o Ensure alignment with company production schedules quality standards and
cost objectives.
o Conduct market analysis and stay informed on industry trends to optimize
procurement processes.
2. Supplier Relationship Management:
o Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers ensuring reliable
delivery of highquality materials and components.
o Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers focusing on cost reduction
and value creation.
o Evaluate supplier performance based on delivery quality and cost metrics.
o Lead supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with the company’s
quality standards and contractual agreements.
3. Inventory Management:
o Oversee inventory control and demand planning ensuring sufficient stock levels
while avoiding overstocking or shortages.
o Work closely with production teams to forecast material requirements based on
production schedules.o Implement strategies for efficient storage and logistics of materials to support
manufacturing operations.
4. Cost Control & Budget Management:
o Develop and manage the purchasing budget ensuring costeffective
procurement without compromising on quality.
o Identify and implement costsaving opportunities through strategic sourcing and
supplier negotiations.
o Track and report procurement costs analysing variances and recommending
corrective actions.
5. CrossDepartmental Collaboration:
o Collaborate with production engineering and R&D teams to understand their
material requirements and ensure timely and accurate procurement.
o Work with finance and accounting teams to manage purchase orders invoicing
and payment processes.
o Provide regular updates to senior management regarding procurement
performance challenges and opportunities.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with local national and international regulations governing
procurement and sourcing activities.
o Manage and mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and
ensuring alternative suppliers and materials are available.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
o Lead mentor and manage the procurement team fostering a collaborative and
highperformance culture.
o Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance
their skills and knowledge in procurement and supply chain management.
8. Continuous Improvement:
o Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems adopting
best practices in sourcing negotiation and supplier management.
o Implement and optimize ERP or procurement software to enhance efficiency and
accuracy in purchasing functions.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management Business
Administration Mechanical Engineering or a related field.• Experience: Minimum of 10 – 15 years of experience in procurement with at least 5 years
in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment (preferably in tool holders
gearboxes or related industries).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the manufacturing processes and
materials used in tool holder and gearbox production.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing and developing a team of
procurement professionals.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers
to ensure costeffectiveness.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze market
trends supplier performance and procurement data.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability
to interact effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
• Industry Knowledge: Indepth understanding of the tool holder and gearbox
manufacturing industry.
• ERP Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (ABAS SAP Oracle etc. for procurement
and inventory management.
• Project Management: Strong project management skills including the ability to manage
timelines and resources effectively.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in procurement
documentation and process .
Working Conditions:
• Fulltime position with occasional travel to supplier sites or manufacturing facilities.
• Officebased with regular visits to the production floor and warehouses.
This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the procurement process driving cost
savings and maintaining a reliable supply chain to support the tool holders and gearbox
manufacturing facility's production needs.
