Position Description

Aerotech is seeking a Mechanic to support the growing fleet of speciality vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) required to run our maintenance facility in Alice Springs.

The types of equipment that will be the responsibility of the GSE Mechanic are:

  • Aircraft Tugs (Diesel Powered)
  • Forklifts (LPG)
  • AllTerrain Vehicles (4Stroke Unleaded)
  • Ground Power Units (Diesel Powered)
  • Scissor Lifts (Diesel and Electric Powered)
  • Aircraft jacks (axle and tripod) serviceable up to 150 ton

The Mechanic will also manage the ongoing maintenance associated with the commercial vehicle fleet (comprising of Toyota Hilux/Hiace).



Requirements

Candidate Requirements

Candidates will have at least 5 years of experience as a qualified mechanic and the following personal and professional traits:


  • Excellent Communication (written and verbal)
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Practical outlook without compromising attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Be fluent in English (written and spoken)

To be successful in this role it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well-developed analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills. You must be someone who can work autonomously who is comfortable driving continuous improvement. Completion of a Lead or Internal auditor course Hold or previously held a Part 66 Licence or experience on a large aircraft Previous experience in an engineering quality and safety role, ideally within a Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation is a must! Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of CASA, EASA and FAA regulations Demonstrated experience in Safety Management Systems, and change management principles Be located in Australia (No visa pathway possible) Demonstrated experience in technical writing Desirable - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
