WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A SENIOR OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Senior Operations Coordinator Revenue Cycle (Emergency Department) serves in a senior supervisory capacity overseeing staff and daily revenue cycle operations supporting Emergency Department services. This role is responsible for supervising staff performance coordinating highvolume workflows ensuring compliance with hospital policies and payer regulations and supporting accurate and timely reimbursement for ED encounters. The position functions as first line supervision under the general direction of Revenue Cycle leadership and works closely with Emergency Department leadership and clinical teams.

• Provides direct supervision to assigned ED Revenue Cycle staff including scheduling daily work assignment productivity monitoring and performance oversight
• Establishes performance expectations related to timeliness accuracy compliance and customer service
• Provides ongoing coaching mentoring and corrective feedback; participates in performance evaluations and disciplinary processes in accordance with Ellis Hospital HR policies
• Assists with recruitment onboarding training and competency development of ED Revenue Cycle staff
• Serves as the primary escalation point for staff concerns complex ED accounts and workflow issues
• Oversees daytoday Revenue Cycle activities supporting Emergency Department encounters including registration support insurance verification charge capture coordination billing followup and account resolution
• Ensures staff compliance with Ellis Hospital policies payer requirements and applicable federal and state regulations (including CMS NYSDOH EMTALA and HIPAA requirements impacting ED services)
• Monitors ED account workflows work queues and aging to support timely billing and cash flow
• Addresses operational challenges related to highvolume fastpaced ED workflows and afterhours coverage
• Identifies issues that may impact reimbursement regulatory compliance or patient experience and implements corrective actions
• Maintains and enforces standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to Emergency Department Revenue Cycle workflows.

• Monitors key ED Revenue Cycle metrics such as registration accuracy charge lag denial trends and A/R aging
• Participates in audits quality assurance activities and performance improvement initiatives related to Emergency Department billing and collections

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A SENIOR OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

• Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare Administration Finance or a related field preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage performance in a fastpaced ED Revenue Cycle environment
• Working knowledge of Emergency Department workflows payer requirements and reimbursement methodologies
• Strong organizational analytical and problemsolving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with revenue cycle systems reporting tools and Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a highacuity regulated healthcare setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed inan office/and or hospital environment adjacent to the Emergency Department. Should be able to push/pull lift/move 15 lb. be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard writing and filing for extended periods of time must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period of time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

Salary Range: $24.75-$36.53 /hourPay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the state.
