Job responsibilities include:
- Monitor the daily production of food special events and supervising all other dining services Team members involved with food preparation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.
- Adapt recipes for special dietary needs or preferences as required.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or catering environment with knowledge of meal preparation techniques.
- Technical or Vocational school or three (3) years apprenticeship required.
- Familiarity with fine dining standards and practices is preferred.
- Strong understanding of food handling safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as needed.
