Job Summary
Our client is currently strengthening its team by hiring an HVAC Mechanical Engineer for the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer marine HVAC and ventilation systems for vessels and offshore units (accommodation spaces machinery spaces control rooms galleys etc.)
- Perform HVAC calculations including cooling/heating loads ventilation rates duct sizing pressure losses and equipment selection for marine applications
- Prepare and review technical drawings layouts and schematics (HVAC ducting piping insulation)
- Ensure compliance with marine classification society rules (DNV ABS BV LR RINA etc.) and international standards (ISO IMO SOLAS)
- Coordinate with shipyards naval architects electrical and piping disciplines
- Review vendor documentation equipment datasheets and contractor submittals
- Support installation testing and commissioning onboard vessels
- Participate in FAT/SAT sea trials and troubleshooting as required
- Assist with cost estimation material take-offs and technical clarifications
- Provide technical support during construction and retrofit projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in marine HVAC or HVAC systems for ships/offshore installations
- Solid understanding of marine HVAC principles equipment and materials
- Knowledge of marine rules and regulations (IMO SOLAS class society requirements)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations
- Good command of written and spoken English
