Job Summary

In partnership with our client we are seeking an HR Operations Executive to execute and streamline day-to-day HR administrative processes for the store team at a leading retail brand based in Lagos. From onboarding to offboarding payroll inputs to performance cycles you will be the operational backbone that keeps the people function running smoothly and every employee feeling supported. Who are we looking for
  • You are an HR operations professional with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in HR operations recruitment coordination or as an HR Generalist or Coordinator ideally within a corporate or retail environment.
  • You are meticulous and detail-oriented understanding that accuracy in HR data payroll inputs and employee records is not optional it is the foundation everything else is built on.
  • You are absolutely discreet and confidential someone who handles sensitive employee information with the highest level of professionalism and integrity at all times.
  • You are highly empathetic and approachable able to be the first point of contact for employees navigating HR questions policies and concerns with warmth and clarity.
  • You are process-oriented and proactive always looking for smarter ways to improve service delivery and strengthen the employee experience.
  • You are proficient in modern HRIS platforms Applicant Tracking Systems ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools including Excel.
  • You are a strong communicator and stakeholder manager comfortable working across all levels of the organisation and with external partners including pension administrators HMOs and insurance companies.
Your Responsibilities
Onboarding and Offboarding
  • You will coordinate the full onboarding process including preparing offer letters conducting background checks managing verifications and leading first-day orientations that make new employees feel genuinely welcomed.
  • You will manage the offboarding process for departing store employees processing all required paperwork and coordinating equipment returns with IT to ensure a smooth and professional exit.
Employee Records and Data Management
  • You will serve as the primary administrator for store team employee records within the HRIS ensuring 100% data accuracy at all times.
  • You will process all employee status changes including promotions transfers salary adjustments and manager changes accurately and promptly.
  • You will maintain organised compliant and secure digital personnel files ensuring all records are always audit-ready.
Payroll and Benefits Administration
  • You will partner with the Payroll team to ensure all HR-related payroll inputs including new hires terminations bonuses and leave deductions are submitted accurately before each payroll cut-off.
  • You will coordinate and update documentation for authorised absences and leave administration keeping records accurate and accessible.
Recruitment Support
  • You will draft format and publish job descriptions across job boards and professional networks to attract top talent for store roles.
  • You will schedule phone video and in-person interviews between candidates and hiring managers ensuring a seamless and professional candidate experience at every stage.
  • You will manage the Applicant Tracking System moving candidates through the pipeline updating statuses and maintaining accurate recruitment records throughout.
Reporting and Analytics
  • You will generate weekly monthly and ad-hoc HR reports covering headcount turnover and other key people metrics that support informed decision-making.
  • You will administer employee pulse surveys and assist in analysing data to identify trends and recommend improvements to workplace culture.
Culture and Engagement
  • You will assist in the administration of annual and bi-annual performance review cycles tracking completion rates and organising review data for HR leadership.
  • You will help plan coordinate and execute culture initiatives team-building events wellness programmes and employee recognition awards that strengthen team morale and belonging.
  • You will act as the first line of support for employees answering routine questions regarding company policies and the employee handbook with clarity and professionalism.
What Success looks like
  • 100% accuracy in employee records within the HRIS at all times with no data gaps or discrepancies identified during audits.
  • All payroll inputs submitted accurately and on time before every cut-off with zero payroll errors attributable to HR data issues.
  • A seamless onboarding experience for every new hire with all documentation orientation and system access completed before or on day one.
  • Recruitment pipelines managed efficiently within the ATS with candidates progressing through stages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Employee pulse survey data analysed and presented with clear insights and actionable recommendations within agreed reporting timelines.
  • Performance review cycles tracked and completed on time with accurate data organised and accessible for HR leadership.
To be considered for this role you should have
  • A Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Psychology or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CIPM SHRM or PHRI are an added advantage.
  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in HR operations recruitment coordination or as an HR Generalist or Coordinator.
  • Proficiency in modern HRIS platforms ATS systems ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools including Excel.
  • Solid understanding of full-cycle recruitment processes employee engagement strategies and basic employment law.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to work accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
