Job Summary

Job Title: Project Manager (PMO) - Digital Payments

Employment type: Contract

Contract length: 6 months

Location: Nairobi Kenya

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The Embedded PMO Resource will provide dedicated onsite Project Management Office (PMO) support to the Bank Client under an Implementation Services engagement. The role is focused on driving disciplined execution of priority initiatives by strengthening governance coordinating stakeholders tracking delivery managing risks and dependencies and ensuring high quality on time outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams. This is an execution and coordination role not a strategy or advisory position.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Function as the single point of coordination for all in scope client initiatives under the engagement.
  • Establish and maintain structured PMO governance across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Develop and manage integrated initiative plans milestones timelines dependencies and key deliverables.
  • Track execution progress against agreed plans timelines and success metrics.
  • Identify log and actively manage risks issues and dependencies including escalation where required.
  • Coordinate inputs and activities across the client business technology operations and delivery teams.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts (Products Technology Risk Analytics Managed Services Marketing Client Success) to enable timely and effective implementation support.
  • Support preparation consolidation and validation of implementation documentation and reports.
  • Ensure execution discipline follow through on agreed actions and closure of open items.
  • Facilitate decision making through clear data status visibility and structured escalation.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong PMO or project management experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Proven experience in execution tracking risk and issue management and delivery governance.
  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills in complex cross functional environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including executive level reporting.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage dependencies and follow through on actions.
  • Structured disciplined and delivery focused working style.
  • Ability to work onsite and integrate seamlessly into client teams.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Business (certified in Project Management preferred) Technology or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Previous experience within Banking Digital Payment & Card solutions or the FinTech industry.
  • Regional experience across Kenya including working in a faced-paced matrix organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written verbal and presentation).

Preferred Skills:

  • The ability to analyse data troubleshoot payment issues optimize processes and make data-driven decisions.
  • Good understanding of payment systems digital platforms system workflows security basics and industry technologies.
  • An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
