The Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility (DBME) is seeking a journey-level Customer Service Representative 2. This role involves interacting with the general public to provide information regarding program eligibility licenses and registrations while resolving complex customer service issues with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities - Customer Interaction: Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about services enter orders or obtain details of complaints.
- Eligibility & Licensing: Provide services such as license registration title permit or program eligibility information.
- Problem Solving: Resolve difficult service or billing complaints by researching policies adjusting accounts and reconciling cash against known figures for verification.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of customer interactions recording inquiries complaints and actions taken.
- Financial Duties: Prepare and transmit deposits of monies to the bank or to the state treasurers office on a daily basis.
- Experience: Proven customer service experience specifically in solving difficult complaints and following established guidelines.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Communication: Proficiency in the English language and active listening skills to understand and convey information effectively.
- Clerical Knowledge: Understanding of administrative procedures file management and office terminology.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in a second language is preferred.
