Position Overview
The Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) is seeking a journey-level Customer Service Representative 2 to join the DBME team in Prescott Valley. This role is dedicated to interacting directly with the public to provide program information resolve complex service issues and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
We are looking for a professional who can exercise discretion conduct research to solve problems and ensure high standards of service delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction: Confer with customers via telephone or in person to provide information regarding program eligibility licenses registrations or permits.
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve difficult customer complaints or billing issues by conducting research and analyzing agency policies/procedures.
  • Data Management: Enter orders update account details (such as change of address) and maintain meticulous records of all inquiries and actions taken.
  • Financial Processing: Periodically reconcile cash receipts against known figures and prepare/transmit deposits to the bank or State Treasurers office.
  • Follow-up: Contact customers to notify them of investigation results or planned adjustments to their claims/accounts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people and assessing customer needs to meet quality standards.
  • Communication: Excellent active listening and speaking skills to convey information effectively; proficiency in English grammar and composition.
  • Clerical Expertise: Knowledge of administrative procedures file management and word processing.
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Guidance: Ability to follow established guidelines while using discretion when releasing pertinent information.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service environment (Journey level preferred).
  • Location: Local candidates only. Resumes must clearly state the candidates current physical location to be considered.
  • Availability: Must be available for an in-person interview within one week of the posting close date and able to start within two weeks of an offer.
  • Background: Must pass a HireRight Background Check and Drug Screening. Security clearance is required.
  • Skills: Strong ability to solve difficult complaints and follow established agency guidelines.
  • Preferred: Bilingual skills are a plus.
