Applications are invited for joint appointments as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (several posts) inAI in Medicine and Digital Health under the LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 534726) to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
We are seeking outstanding interdisciplinary scholars with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) digital health medical data science computational medicine and bioinformaticswith capability in developing innovative researchteaching and technology transfer programmes that bridge AI and medicine/ appointees will be jointly hosted in a relevant School/Department within HKUMedand the School of Computing and Data Science.
Applicants should possess: (i) aPh.D. degree or equivalent in a related discipline; (ii) evidence of regional/international recognition and a strong record of scholarship with a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong commitment to engaging students in inquiry-based learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iv) a strong track record of high-quality researchas indicated by publication records and external grants.
Depending on the strategic priorities of the hosting departments appointees are expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes; take part in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; supervise research postgraduate students; and perform administrative duties.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical current rates salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary.A start-up package that is commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be benefits will also be provided as applicable.
