Job Summary
Job Summary (Estimator Appleton WI)
- Prepare accurate job estimates for prospective clients using architectural plans and project specifications.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal teams and external customers.
- Develop and maintain proficiency with estimating tools and relevant software (e.g. Bluebeam Excel Word).
- Review project plans and specifications to determine bid scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and sales to ensure bids are competitive and profitable.
- Analyze material and labor costs; apply appropriate markups to estimates.
- Prepare and distribute written estimates through appropriate channels.
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
- Conduct site visits to collect necessary project information.
- Select appropriate units metrics and assumptions for efficient estimating.
- Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to finalize pricing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Preferred: Associates degree prior estimating experience in construction/manufacturing and experience interpreting architectural plans.
- Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize tasks and work independently are required.
