San Diego-based design-build playground company expanding into full-scope park and site development projects. Our team is passionate about creating safe engaging and sustainable outdoor environmentsfrom playgrounds and splash pads to complete park renovations. As we grow our capabilities in public and private park construction were seeking a seasoned estimator who understands the San Diego construction market and can bring strong relationships with local trade partners to the table.
The Opportunity
This is not your typical civil estimating role. Youll lead the estimating effort for new park and site development projects helping shape a growing division focused on small to mid-size public works and private site projects.
Project Mix & Contract Sizes
75% public / 25% private
Pocket park new construction and park replacement projects ($500K$1.5M)
DSA shade structure and public school projects ($250K$500K) especially during summer
bid cycles
Current bonding capacity of $1.5M with targeted 20% year-over-year growth
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for park and site development projects
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure complete scope coverage
Perform plan reviews quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
Identify project risks scope gaps and value-engineering opportunities
Support bid strategy pricing reviews and division growth initiatives
Requirements
8 years of estimating experience in civil site park or landscape construction
Strong relationships with San Diego-area subcontractors and suppliers
Proficiency with estimating tools such as BlueBeam HeavyBid PlanSwift or similar
Detail-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
Interest in helping build and scale a growing division
