Title: Junior Project Cost Estimator
Essential Job Duties
Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives (OARs) to establish negotiating position
Provides support in price negotiations
Prepares claim analysis and estimates
Prepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings specifications and sketches
Assists in reviewing contractors claims and proposals for merit and accountability
Conducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services
Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations
Education/Training
Bachelors degree in engineering architecture engineering or construction management
Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School
Construction.
Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs
Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences
Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal
Good oral and written communication skills
Fact-find and in-depth skills
Compensation
This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $100000.00 - $ 114131.00 and commensurate with skill education experience and work location.
This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
