About the role:

This is a permanent full-time position (Monday to Friday 38 hours per week) preferably based onsite within the BEST Employment footprint. Remote working arrangements from outside our footprint may be considered for an expectational candidate.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the Chief Operations Officer works in close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team to drive BESTs strategic vision operationalperformanceand service excellence. The COO provides executive leadership across all operational programs ensuring financial sustainability contract performance continuousimprovementand high-quality participant outcomes.

Key ResultArea1:Leadership & People Management

Objectives:

  • Lead manage and mentorOperations leadership team providing clear and consistent communication of expectationsfeedbackand guidance.
  • Exemplify organisational values and purpose as a role model inspiring others to align their actions to achieve BESTs vision.
  • Uphold a positive and inclusive organisational cultureinspiringahigh-performanceculturewithin the Operationsleadershipteam.
  • Work toestablishleadership practices which promote positive engagement and provide opportunity for constructive inputactionand ownership of activity within Operations leadership team.
  • Provide support and guidance of best practice for Operations leadership team.
  • Identifyand encourage opportunities for professional development within Operations leadership team.
  • Effectively manage a dynamic team by overseeing all aspects of staff management including recruitment performance management conflict resolution and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Key ResultArea2:Strategy Development & Implementation withintheOperationsDivision

Objectives:

  • Lead the translation of strategicobjectivesinto actionable plansfor theOperations team ensuring alignment with the organisationsvisionand values.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives withintheOperationsdivision.
  • Identifyand report on program development growth and diversification opportunities that supportthestrategic plan.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes integrating relevant insights into program strategies.
  • Drive and support the prioritisation and implementation of program growth opportunities.
  • Championa culture of innovation and adaptability to respond effectively to emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop andmaintainkey strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders related toprogram success.
  • Leverage data insights to inform operational strategy service deliverymodelsand performance improvement initiatives.

Key Result Area 3:Operational PerformanceandContract Delivery

Objectives:

  • Provide executive oversight of all operational programs and contracts ensuring delivery aligns with funding agreements and deeds strategicobjectivesand organisational values.
  • Drive achievement of contractual and organisational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) implementingtimelyperformance improvement and recovery strategies whererequired.
  • Drive financial performance across programs including cost optimisation revenuegrowthand funding sustainability strategies.
  • Oversee budget development financial performancemonitoringand revenue optimisation strategies to ensure program sustainability.
  • Lead data-informed decision making by analysing operational financial and outcome performance metrics to guide strategy and service delivery improvements.
  • Ensure programs deliver high-quality participant outcomes aligned to contractual and organisational success measures.
  • Leada performance-driven and accountability-focused culture across the Operations division promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Identifyand prioritise opportunities for service enhancementdiversificationand operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure seamless coordination between programs and corporate functions.
  • Maintain and strengthen strategic stakeholder relationships to enhance program performance and organisational reputation.
  • Ensure risk management and work health and safety (WHS) expectations are fulfilled across operational programs.

About you:

  • Extensive knowledge of Employment Services Disability Services and/or Community Services and keen interest to continue knowledge diversification.
  • 3 years experience leading geographically dispersed multi-program service delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing organisational strategies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including ability towritereports and funding submissions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract performance management experience.
  • Strong analytical problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills including communication influencing negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Appropriate computer literacy including use of Microsoft suite and variety of software programs.
