Position Overview
A leading acute care hospital in the Kansas City area is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join its dynamic team. This unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of medical surgical cardiac and neurological conditions.
This is an excellent opportunity for nurses seeking exposure to diverse patient populations including general surgery urology vascular and trauma-related cases. The unit treats stable Level I trauma patients and moderately high-acuity Med-Surg cases offering strong clinical learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following established standards of care and evidence-based protocols.
Develop implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans to optimize outcomes.
Deliver direct patient care while supervising and delegating tasks to non-licensed staff in accordance with scope of practice.
Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
Provide patient and family education tailored to age culture and medical condition.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required (experience does not need to be recent).
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
