The Employment Security Department (ESD) is seeking a collaborative people-centered leader to serve as a WorkSource Supervisor.

This role oversees a team delivering core and intensive employment services across multiple workforce programs. You will ensure staff have the tools training and support needed to meet performance expectations comply with state and federal requirements and provide exceptional service to job seekers employers and community partners. Your leadership directly supports ESDs mission to strengthen Washingtons communities through equitable workforce solutions.
About the Workforce Services Division:
Workforce Services Division (WSD) is made up of three Lines of Business: WorkSource Central Operations System Support and Washington Service Corps (WSC). WSD administers the Labor Exchange (LEX) Migrant Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) Veterans Services Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and WorkFirst programs for job seekers and employers in Washington and provides job seekers with referrals to partners providing Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) adult youth and dislocated worker training and support services.
As a WorkSource Supervisor you will manage daily operations guide staff development and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure integrated customer-focused service delivery. You will oversee program performance budgets and compliance; build relationships with businesses and community organizations; and represent ESD within the workforce system. This position requires strong judgment adaptability and the ability to lead teams in a dynamic fast-paced environment. This position is based in Thurston County and requires in person attendance. Required:
Option 1: One year experience as a WorkSource Specialist 5 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department OR Another states Employment Security agency
Option 2: A Bachelors degree and five years of relevant experience in workforce development social or human resource services public relations or public contact work such as: unemployment insurance social services human resource services education public relations benefits programs insurance claims law enforcement and banking or a combination of education and/or relevant experience which includes one year experience as a designated lead.
Option 3: A combination of education and/or relevant experience* totaling no less than nine (9) years which includes one year experience as a designated lead.
Education to Experience Equivalences:
Associate Degree 2 years Bachelor Degree 4 years Masters or Higher 5 years
