EYFS Teaching Assistant – Greenwich

We are seeking a caring enthusiastic and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Greenwich starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and supporting young children during a crucial stage of their development.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging play-based learning activities and provide individual or small-group support to pupils. You will play an important role in helping children develop confidence independence and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the EYFS teacher with daily classroom activities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children as required

• Assist with play-based learning and structured activities

• Support childrens personal social and emotional development

• Help maintain a safe clean and stimulating learning environment

• Observe and record childrens progress under teacher guidance

• Support routines such as snack time toileting and outdoor play

• Encourage positive behaviour and independence

• Communicate effectively with staff and parents when appropriate

• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working with young children ideally in EYFS

• Be caring patient and enthusiastic

• Have a good understanding of early years development

• Be proactive and able to work as part of a team

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Be reliable and flexible in approach

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
