Job Summary

We are seeking a caring enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Manchester starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children in their first years of formal education helping them develop confidence independence and a love of learning.

The school has a strong Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme providing a safe nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore play and learn. Staff work collaboratively in a supportive team and the leadership team values professional development innovation and the wellbeing of both pupils and staff.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to support the planning delivery and evaluation of learning activities. You will provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups helping them achieve developmental milestones across literacy numeracy communication and social-emotional skills. You will also help create a safe and positive learning environment where children feel valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the EYFS teacher in delivering daily classroom activities

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children as required

  • Assist with planning and preparing engaging play-based learning activities

  • Observe and record childrens progress to inform planning and assessment

  • Encourage positive behaviour independence and confidence

  • Support routines including snack times toileting and outdoor play

  • Promote social interaction communication skills and personal development

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other support staff

  • Maintain a safe inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Follow safeguarding health and safety and school policies

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children ideally in EYFS or nursery settings

  • Be patient caring and enthusiastic about early years education

  • Have a good understanding of child development and learning styles in the early years

  • Be proactive adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
