Job Summary
We are seeking a caring patient and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Watford starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils with additional needs succeed academically and socially.
The school has a well-established SEN provision and a nurturing environment. You will work closely with the class teacher SENCO and other support staff to provide targeted 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
Assist with academic tasks social skills and communication development
Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans
Encourage positive behaviour independence and confidence
Support the pupil during lessons transitions and playtimes
Monitor record and report progress to teachers and SENCO
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCO and support staff
Ensure a safe inclusive and supportive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

The successful candidate will:
Have experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting
Be patient empathetic and resilient
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be proactive reliable and adaptable
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
The school is located in Watford with excellent transport links and a supportive team environment. Training and guidance will be provided for the right candidate.
