We are seeking a patient compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Wolverhampton starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and strong SEN provision. Pupils with a variety of additional needs including autism ADHD SEMH and learning difficulties are supported through targeted 1:1 or small-group interventions. Staff work collaboratively with class teachers the SENCO and other support professionals to provide personalised support for every child.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum develop independence and build confidence. You will assist with both academic tasks and social-emotional learning ensuring children feel supported and valued throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN
Assist pupils with academic tasks social interaction and communication development
Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans
Encourage positive behaviour independence and self-confidence
Support pupils during lessons transitions and break times
Monitor record and report pupil progress to teachers and SENCO
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCO and support staff
Create a safe inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Promote pupils social skills and peer engagement
Follow safeguarding health and safety and school policies
