What the job involves
Being the digital voice of major rugby sponsorships across social platforms
Managing real-time community engagement and fan conversations
Creating platform-specific rugby-relevant social content and copy
Planning and managing content calendars including live match-day coverage
Leading content and campaign ideas from concept through to execution
Collaborating with creative digital and client teams
Tracking sentiment trends and performance with regular reporting and insights
Staying plugged into local and global rugby moments and translating these into content opportunities
Working flexible hours around matches events and activations
What you need to be considered
35 years experience in social media or digital marketing (agency or brand-side)
Deep genuine knowledge of South African rugby culture
Hands-on experience with Instagram X Facebook TikTok and YouTube
Strong copywriting skills tailored per platform
Confidence managing communities and live social coverage
A relevant degree or diploma (communications digital marketing or similar)
Own transport and willingness to travel to matches and activations
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required
A portfolio is preferred this should include examples of social content campaigns live posting community management and engagement win
Bonus points if you
Have existing relationships within the rugby ecosystem
Have worked on sports sponsorship or fan-driven brands
Thrive under pressure and love real-time moments
Are obsessed with spotting trends before everyone else
