Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products - Birmingham is seeking applicants for Mill Maintenance Specialist. The Specialist will safely provide support to the Birmingham team by:

Being a leader in safety.
Ensuring spare parts are identified and available.
Grow the Preventive/Predictive Maintenance program.
Serves as a technical expert for Maintenance Technicians and Operations.
Proactively identify work to be performed in order to minimize downtime.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
Prepare and organize jobs to be performed during scheduled and unscheduled down time and down days.
Works hands on with the team to execute jobs.
Works with vendors OEMs and outside sources when support is needed.
Ensure work is executed with a high level of quality and workmanship.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two-year technical degree and/or a minimum of 5years experiencein applicable heavy industrial maintenance.
Willingness to work straight days including scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Available for on call as needed.
Must be able to develop LOTO procedures train the team on our LOTO policy and practice.
Must be able to demonstrate proper communication skills with all departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive mechanical powertrain pneumatic and fluid power maintenance experience.
Excellent knowledge of LOTOTO .
Working knowledge of Microsoft word excel PowerPoint CMMS.
Proficient in understanding mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
