MW Partners is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to work for our client who is a global leader in the aerospace defence and security markets.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Execute bi-weekly payroll processing for all legacy US employees validating time entries pay codes and compensation data to ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery.
- Work closely with the existing payroll team to support with daily activities audits and reporting.
- Apply federal and state payroll regulations to ensure compliance with state requirements including support of year-end processing tax remittances and regulatory filings across applicable legal entities.
- Process manual and off-cycle payroll transactions partnering with Payroll leadership to ensure appropriate review financial controls and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with third-party payroll vendors to ensure accurate payroll processing timely issue resolution and documentation readiness for audit purposes.
- Review and validate payroll inputs including UKG time data ensuring adherence to state legislation and company policy.
- Perform regular payroll audits to identify discrepancies validate tax withholdings and maintain internal control standards.
- Process payroll-related reimbursements one-time payments and corrections ensuring accurate calculations and coordination with HR and Finance.
- Administer garnishments support orders and tax levies serving as liaison between employees and external agencies.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees HR and management managing cases and email communications to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in business Finance Accounting Human Resources or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Strong working knowledge of US payroll legislation taxation requirements reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Experience processing payroll in multi-entity and multi-state environments with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret payroll and tax data identify discrepancies and make sound operational decisions within established guidelines escalating when appropriate.
- Experience operating in shared services or matrixed environments.
- Strong Excel proficiency including data analysis pivot tables v-lookup and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance accuracy and internal controls.
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience utilizing payroll and time & attendance systems such as ADP UKG and Workday to support accurate payroll processing reporting and compliance activities.
- Experience operating within a SOX-controlled or highly regulated environment with familiarity in audit support internal control procedures and documentation standards.
- Experience processing payroll across multiple legal entities and states within a complex organizational structure ensuring compliance with varying statutory and tax requirements.
