Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises human resources programs for a university division including all policies and procedures related to recruitment employee relations appointments performance evaluations employment transfers classification actions and terminations; serves as liaison with the University Human Resources Division Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Faculty/Staff Assistance Program.
  • Manages the program for national recruitment of new employees including serving as an the divisional executive recruiter; coordinates with the Human Resources Division the posting of positions and the selection and hiring process; interprets policies and procedures and provides counsel to leadership and employees concerning their administration; consults supervisory and management staff on human resources issues; participates in the development and administration of the human resources budget; manages divisional job documentation such as job descriptions position questionnaires etc.; consults with supervisors and managers regarding staffing needs.
  • Assesses training needs and plans and implements a comprehensive program for training and developing staff; develops in-house workshops seminars and training programs; coordinates divisional performance management process ensuring the regular and timely evaluation of staff.
  • Manages a small HR staff; reports to divisional head or divisional operations head.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources business administration or a related field.
  • Seven years of human resources experience encompassing multiple specialties five years of which are in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Certification as a Senior Human Resources Professional is preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
