Appalachian Childrens Home is seeking a compassionate and experienced Child Care Director to oversee the daily operations of our child care and residential programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe nurturing and structured environment for children while supervising staff maintaining program quality and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires strong leadership excellent organizational skills and a passion for supporting the well-being and development of children.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the child care and residential programs.
Supervise train and support child care staff to ensure high-quality care.
Develop and implement programs that support childrens emotional behavioral and developmental needs.
Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and organizational policies.
Maintain a safe structured and supportive environment for children.
Collaborate with counselors educators and support staff to provide comprehensive care.
Manage scheduling staffing and program planning.
Communicate effectively with families staff and community partners.
Monitor program performance and implement improvements when needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Child Development Social Work Psychology Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
Minimum 35 years of experience in child care youth services or residential care.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Strong understanding of child development and behavioral management.
Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to pass background checks and child protection clearances.
