Amazons Legal Department is looking for a talented Associate Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly evolving and expanding Prime Video service in India.
This role is part of the legal team that supports Amazons digital media businesses in India. Lawyers at Amazon are trusted members of the business. Key job responsibilities
In this role you will counsel Prime Video business on a broad range of commercial licensing technology and regulatory matters and will be invowlved in structuring drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions.
You will handle legal aspects of content acquisition and will be responsible for all related legal matters including evaluating rights issues confirming chain of title and handling clearance matters standards and practices review promotion and publicity issues and working with other departments like marketing content acquisition policy product etc.
You will work directly with the business serving as counsel on strategic deals helping launch new products and services providing day-to-day advice resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and content related escalations and inquiries.
You will advise business on a wide range of legal areas including intellectual property digital media acquisition of content and regulatory compliance. The role would also require counseling business on relevant legal developments.
Throughout all the above tasks you will closely coordinate with local and global legal teams and outside counsel. The successful candidate must be inquisitive enjoy being continually challenged and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
LOCATION: The position is based in Mumbai and we foster a collaborative work environment where team members work together in person at office all 5 days of the week. Some travel domestic and international will be required.
- 3 years of Intellectual Property (IP) Law experience
- Experience working proactively and independently meeting deadlines and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- LL.B. (undergraduate law degree) from a top tier university in India.
- In-house experience in the media space with a reputed MNC in content related transactions and intellectual property issues.
- Knowledge / experience in policy / regulatory / S&P issues.
