Job Summary
Job Description
An industry leader in the packaging/manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Production Manager based in the Roodekop area. This person will be responsible for leading and optimising production operations within a high-volume injection moulding plant. The role focuses on achieving production targets ensuring product quality improving efficiencies and maintaining a safe disciplined and high-performance manufacturing environment.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day production activities within the injection moulding department
- Ensure production plans are executed to meet output quality cost and delivery targets
- Lead coach and develop production supervisors and operational teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (OEE scrap reduction downtime reduction)
- Ensure compliance with health safety environmental and quality standards
- Collaborate with maintenance tooling quality and planning teams to ensure optimal machine uptime
- Monitor and control labour material usage and production costs
- Participate in capital projects new product introductions and process optimisation
- Ensure adherence to company policies procedures and performance standards
Qualifications Experience & Competencies:
- Bsc or Beng Mechanical Chemical Industrial or Mechatronics Degree
- Minimum 2-3 years experience managing a manufacturing site
- Proven experience managing large production teams in a high-volume shift-based operation
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes tooling materials and cycle optimisation
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
- Strong leadership problem-solving and communication skills
