Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the team in Johannesburg supporting Southern Africa. The individual will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS) implemented at Alfred H Knight. The Quality function serves to raise the technical competence of the Group and benchmark performance through a variety of initiatives to introduce continuous and step change improvement and to monitor KPIs to shape Business strategy.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
To be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Overseeing and managing all quality-related activities across African laboratories and operations in line with the company Quality Policy and the requirements of ISO 17025 and ISO 17020
- Supports the implementation and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025 and 17020 for laboratories and sites seeking accreditation as well as those that are already accredited ensuring compliance with quality management and technical requirements.
- Drives and coordinates internal audits across the African region
- Provides monthly high-level reports on QC performance non-conformances and customer complaints
- Serves as a key contact for senior and line managers in resolving quality-related issues and driving continuous improvement
Required Competencies
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Demonstrates excellent teamwork networking and the ability to work independently using initiative
- Highly organized with strong planning and prioritization abilities capable of coordinating others and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrates integrity attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and compliance
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with teams to maintain high standards and resolve issues
- Shows leadership in driving continuous improvement and promoting a culture of quality across the organization
- Remains objective organized and resilient in managing audits non-conformances and quality risks
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Analytical Chemistry Diploma in Quality Management or similar field
Required work experience
- 10 years experience in an analytical/inorganic chemistry lab with proven track record of ISO17025 and ISO17020 system implementation to accreditation
Travel
- Local and international travel will be required. The incumbent must have the ability to travel frequently across Southern Africa.
- Valid passport
